Ridin For The Cross Ministry Statement of Beliefs!
The Scriptures are the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infalible rule of faith and conduct. (2Timothy 3:16, 1Peter 2:2)
There is one God who is eternal and self-existent, who reveals and manifests Himself to man as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4, Mark 12:29, Isaiah 43:10-11,
Matthew 28:19). Jesus Christ is true God and true man, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. (John 1:1-14, Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:26-27, Luke 2:7, 1Timothy 2:5). Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed his blood as a sacrifice for our sins was buried and rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and is at the right hand of the Majesty on High. (1Peter 2:24, Hebrews 9:11-14, Hebrews 10:12, 1Corinthians 15:3-8, Acts 2:32-36). We believe in the personal and literal second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1Thessalonians 4:16, Hebrews 9:27, 1Corinthians 15:51-52, Revelations, 20:11, Acts 24:15). The ministry of the Holy Spirit is promised to believers to glorify Christ, to convict men of sin, righteousness and judgement and to empower the believer. (John 15:26, John 16:8, 14, Acts 1:8). The gifts of the Holy Spirit are still in operation today and have not passed away (Hebrews 13:8).
Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin. (Gen. 3:1-7, Romans 5:12-21). Water baptism identifies us with the death and burial of Christ, and that we should arise and walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:3-9, 1Peter 3:21).
The true Church is composed of believers who through the saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (1Peter 2:4, Ephesians 2:19-22). Christ has commanded the members of His church to carry the gospel into all the world. (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8). The church is to be more than just a building or a gathering of people. It is a body of believers living in relationship and harmony with Jesus Christ as the head. (1Corinthians 6:15, 2Corinthians 1:1, Romans 16:5, 1Peter 2:4-5, Ephesians 2:19-22, 1Corinthians 12:12-31, Romans 12:4-5, Ephesians 4:11-16). In all matters concerning the Body of Christ, in its direction, discipline, ministry and functioning that specific guidance and instruction, revelation and discernment of truth from falsehood is available by the leading of the Holy Spirit who enables us to know and discern spiritual things. (Acts 13:1-3, 1Timothy 1:18, 1Timothy 5:22, Romans 8:14, John 16:13-15, 1Corinthians 5:3).
God has entrusted the church with the solemn Biblical responsibility of being the conscience of society, culture, and government. We therefore, have a duty before God to speak out on moral issues as they relate to our society, culture, and government. (1Kings 18:18, 2Chronicles 15:1-4, 1Samuel 15:14-35, Matthew 5:13-14, Acts 12:33)
It is God’s desire to bring deliverance to His people to set them free from the bondage of mental, emotional, physical or spiritual issues associated with demonic activity. (Psalms 91:3, Job 5:19, 2Timothy 4:13, Hebrews 2:15, 2Peter 2:9) We have been given authority in the name of Jesus Christ to bring deliverance to others. (Mark 16:17, John 14:12, 1Corinthians 12:8-11). Our warfare is with the forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12) and our weapon is the word of God.
(Acts 1:8, Mark 16:17).
